University Of Michigan Fall 2023 Calendar – The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Robotics Engineering, as well as dual degree programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The ECE department also administers four M.S.E graduate programs as well as a doctoral program in Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering and a D.Eng degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Our degree program has over 550 students currently enrolled. Each year approximately 60 to 70 students graduate with a bachelor’s degree from the ECE program and approximately 50 students graduate with a master’s degree from one of our programs.
We are proud of our retention rate of over 60%. While most graduates go on to work in companies generally in environmental planning and development, some pursue full-time studies at local and national universities.

The Department of Engineering and Computer Science currently offers several graduate certificate programs in electrical engineering. These new certifications were created to address the ever-changing needs in the energy and electricity industry and to provide industry professionals with the opportunity to gain experience in specific focus areas such as:
Each certificate is comprised of three courses (nine credit hours per course), all of which are considered cumulative and may be applied toward a Master of Science and Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering upon application by a student who successfully gains admission to a degree-seeking program. Candidates for these certificate programs must have an undergraduate degree in the discipline of engineering with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. A maximum of two certifications can be used to earn the ECE certification program.
These certificate programs will provide a comprehensive education in power engineering, a highly sought-after field in Southeast Michigan that is relevant to the industry, suitable for recent graduates or fresh graduates, as well as seasoned professionals looking for additional and new training. in the outer region. The certificate can be completed entirely on campus or online, or through a combination of face-to-face and online courses.
