Below you will find several ways to apply as a freshman or transfer student, as well as deadlines for special programs. Admission and financial aid applications for both freshman and transfer applicants that are not completed by the specified deadlines will be at a significant disadvantage and will likely not be accepted.

Freshmen can choose from four admission plans: Early Decision I (EDI), Early Action (EA), Early Decision II (EDII), or Regular Decision (RD).

Early Decision I is an early and mandatory application option for applicants who are committed to attending UM if accepted.*
RED DECISION II is an additional mandatory application option for applicants who are required to apply to UM if they are accepted but need more time to apply.*
Accreditation Deadline: All supporting documents from the application list must be on file for consideration. EDI, EA, and EDII students whose application is incomplete by the credential deadline will have their application moved to the regular decision plan. Common Decision applicants whose credentials are incomplete by the deadline will be removed.

**Frost School of Music regular decision applicants must apply by December 1st. Please follow the Frost School of Music application instructions.
*Spring first-year applications and/or additional documents received after the specified deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.
* Transfer requests and/or additional documents received after the specified priority period will be considered based on available space.
A Top 50 Public University
Applicants who are not accepted into specific programs and who do not indicate a second choice major in their application will not be considered for admission to another academic program.
*The School of Architecture offers the opportunity to start in the spring. The deadline for submitting additional materials for the spring academic year is November 1.
