Unc Men’s Golf Reveals 2022 23 Season Schedule
They’re easy to use – just tell the cashier you’re using PLUS Swipe, swipe and go! We are in the middle of May. Most people think about the end of the school year, graduations and plans for the summer. As for me, my mind is firmly set on the 2021-22 college basketball season. Although we are x months away from the start of the next basketball season, we already know a little about the schedule. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the aforementioned opponents.
First, we need to determine the total number of games the Tar Heels could play. As a reminder, the NCAA reduced the number of games teams could play in 2020-21 due to COVID-19. For now, let’s assume next season goes back to the standard number of games. Not counting postseason tournaments, teams have three different options for the number of scheduled regular season games:
Carolina falls into this first category in the 2021-22 season. They are participating in a three-game MTE (with more to come), so they can schedule another 28 games for a total of 31.
Lunar Year Of The Rabbit $1 Coin Pair
The Tar Heels already have two unique games against opponents scheduled. They will travel to the College of Charleston on November 16 for a true road game. The date is TBD, but Carolina will host Monmouth as another previously scheduled stand-alone game.
UNC has scheduled five more games in various events. As always, they will play in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge (opponent, date and location TBA). For the eighth consecutive year, Carolina will participate in the CBS Sports Clasc. This year’s event will be held in Las Vegas (date TBD) and the Tar Heels are expected to take on UCLA.
Note: Of the four annual participants, UNC has the best record in the CBS Sports Clasc at 5-2. Ohio State is 4-3, Kentucky 3-4 and UCLA 2-5.
Unc Chapel Hill (c Step)
Carolina will also participate in the MTE – Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun (Uncasville, Connecticut). The other three participants are Purdue, Tennessee and Villanova. This tournament will be held around Thanksgiving, but exact dates have not yet been announced.
Another element of the schedule that already exists is the 20 ACC games. A few years ago, the conference released the list of conference opponents during the 2021-22 season. So we already know all 20 conference games the Tar Heels will be playing (including home vs. away), we just don’t know exactly when those games will be.
Each of the 15 basketball teams in the ACC play x home and away schools, plus four home-only teams and four away-only teams. Each school has two “rival” schools that they play each year at home and away. The other four indoor and outdoor schools change from year to year.

The Tar Heels’ rival schools are Duke and NC State. The other four Carolina schools playing home-and-away this season are Boston College, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Virginia Tech. The home-only games are Florida State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Virginia. The only away games are Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame and Wake Forest.
If you add up those matches, you get 24 plus MTE for three games. That means Hubert Davis and company still have four spots open in the non-conference portion of the schedule.
It will be interesting to see which teams the coaches decide to schedule with their four open slots. The non-conference schedule is already full. UCLA is at or near the top of everyone’s top 25 too soon (assuming Juzang returns). Villanova is in the top five of the same polls. Tennessee and Purdue are still tough big conference opponents. The ACC/Big Ten Challenge opponent will be a tough matchup (probably at the Smith Center this year, thankfully). Playback
Unc Panhellenic Fall Recruitment Guide 2022 By Uncpanhellenic
One break the Tar Heels have caught is on ACC teams that only play on the road. Each one is a winnable game, and Carolina would be wise to win at least two or three of them.
With the non-conference gauntlet already featuring two likely top-five teams, the 2020-21 schedule leaves no room for maneuver due to the reduced number of games due to COVID-19 and especially in a year of a new coaching transition. leader (albeit with several returning starters), expect all four games to be a mix of opponent types. Maybe another true road game. Maybe another big conference team. At least two middle teams should do well in their league. Maybe a lower conference team.
That said, Roy Williams-led UNC is consistently challenged in the non-conference schedule, so don’t be surprised to see a pretty tough opponent or two. The UNC men’s golf team, coming off its second straight fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships earlier this summer, released its 2022-23 season schedule Thursday afternoon.

UNC’s first event of the fall will be the Fighting Irish Classic, which will be played at the Warren Golf Course on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend. The Olympia Fields Invitational in Illinois and the Williams Cup (named after former UNC basketball coach Roy Williams) in Wilmington, North Carolina, are also on the fall schedule. Carolina won both of those tournaments last season.
The spring season will see the Tar Heels rack up frequent flyer miles. In less than two months, Carolina will play tournaments in Hawaii, Las Vegas and Florida. UNC’s final regular season tournament will be the ASU Thunderbird Collegiate in Arizona on April 14-15.

The ACC Championship begins April 21 at the Country Club of North Carolina at Pinehurst. The NCAA Regionals are scheduled for May 15-17, before the NCAA Championships begin on May 26. As in 2022, the 2023 championship will be played at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ.
“Our tournament schedule this year is amazing,” UNC head coach Andrew DiBitetto said. “Our boys will test their games on some of the best courses in the country, including those that have hosted PGA Tour events, major championships and the Walker Cup. We will regularly face the best teams in the country. Our projected strength should be close to peaking at the end of the year. We can’t wait to get started.
UNC dropped four of the five golfers who competed in the NCAA Championship: Ryan Burnett, David Ford, Peter Fountain and Austin Greaser. Pepperdine transfer and former NCAA champion Dylan Menante will join the team. Each of these five golfers is also participating in this year’s US Amateur Championship in New Jersey. Greaser is the reigning finalist of the event.
