Tell us about yourself so we can help you take the first step toward joining Gator Nation Over the past five years, the U.S. News and World Report ranked Florida’s higher education system among the nation. The Florida State University System (SUS) consists of 12 member institutions: UF, FSU, USF, UCF, FAU, FGCU, FIU, FAMU, UNF, Florida Poly, New College of Florida, and UWF. Last Wednesday, International University Counselors attended a virtual-only admissions workshop for Florida SUS and heard from officials at all 12 Florida public institutions.

UCF received more than 49,000 applications last year and admitted 7,131 students. In the Class of 2025, UCF welcomed one of the school’s most talented groups, including 107 National Honor Scholars and 30 Hispanic National Scholars. Students come from all 50 states, and about 48% of the research body identifies as a minority. New offerings this year include a bachelor’s degree in data science and a bachelor’s degree in career and technical education. The school’s Top 10 Knights program continues to provide guaranteed admission to the top 10% of Florida’s graduating class. UCF has ongoing admissions and will begin reviewing applications this month.

UF is ranked sixth among public universities by US News & World Report. The school offers more than 120 undergraduate degrees. Last year, UF received 53,000 applications and accepted 15,000 students for the Summer or Fall semester. Six hundred students were accepted through UF’s Innovation Academy, a spring/summer program that includes an innovation minor in 25 classes. Another 3,600 students were accepted through the UF PaCE program, a hybrid program in which students begin classes online and then complete their classes on campus. Academic performance over four years — including the rigors and courses taken in a student’s high school — remains the most important factor in admissions. In a new initiative, UF students from any major can now pursue a certificate in AI fundamentals and applications. UF recently opened the Lavender Living Learning Community in the Springs Complex, a gender-neutral housing option for LGBT+ students. This year, UF added an essay on its application that asks students about meaningful activity. Admissions representatives have noted that they love a good story that comes with it. understanding of the student and how the student will contribute to the campus. Students applying to the honors program must write two additional essays. Admissions representatives reiterated that essays should be specific to the UF honors program, and that students should not deviate from the subject. Additional points of note: UF does not consider legacy in its admissions, does not accept by Major, and does not consider AP scores in the admissions process.

FAMU is one of the largest black colleges in the United States, providing a high-quality education at affordable prices. To be considered for admission, students must report their high school courses and grades using the Self-Reported Academic Record (SSAR). Submit two letters of recommendation, and an essay of at least 500 words on a topic of one’s choosing. According to an admissions representative, overcoming an obstacle or challenge is a good thing. Students must apply by November 1, which is a full merit Scholarship evaluation period The school offers 50+ degrees in a variety of academic programs, including Pharmacy, Nursing, Journalism, Health Sciences, Engineering, Architecture and Business.
Uf Office Of Professional And Workforce Development Host Site For Osha Otiec
FAU’s founding anniversary. The school has two campuses: Boca Raton (main campus) and Jupiter (Wilkes Honors College). FAU prides itself on the diversity of its student body. The school offers an engineering bridge program, an academic achievement program, and is the only university-affiliated honors college in the U.S. FAU recently received the largest gift in the school’s history, $20 million from philanthropists Kurt and Marilyn Wallach. The gift will fund the Curt and Marilyn Wallach Institute for Holocaust and Jewish Studies. FAU received 6,000 applications from the prestigious medical school last year and accepted only 66. New this year is a 150-bed residence hall on the school’s Justice Campus. The school has rolling admissions, but to be considered for merit aid, students must apply by January 14. Applicants must use the SSAR to report their high school courses and grades.
This fall, FGCU welcomed the largest freshman class in its history. Founded in 1991, FGCU is home to 15,000+ students – 4,700 of whom live on campus. The campus is on 800 acres, of which 400 are restored or protected land. This year, the school renovated the student services plaza and opened three new projects: a recreation and health center, a community counseling center and Lucas Hall, the business school. Construction on a new 116,000-square-foot building for the School of Water, which will help students study water-related issues, including climate change, national resources and ecosystem health. FGCU’s golf management program is one of 18 PGA-accredited. programs in the nation, and the only one in Florida. They also have a strong intramural program and rank second in the nation for job placement for its students. New majors include construction management in the College of Engineering, as well as supply chain management. and analytics and informatics, both in the College of Business, and digital media and design in the College of Arts and Sciences. Housing FGCU features three summer style options.
In Florida, state universities are evaluated on key criteria, including retention rate, four-year graduation rate and cost of attendance. In Miami, FIU earned the highest score and was named the #1 public school in Florida. FIU boasts the Bucket Reef Base, the world’s only underwater research facility, where students can study global environmental threats, marine ecosystems and more. Bacardi recently donated $5 million to the school to establish a beverage management program. FIU has a very diverse student body, with students from 381 high schools, 66 states, and 86% of students identifying as Black, African American, or Hispanic. The school also holds the distinction of awarding the most undergraduate and graduate degrees to Hispanic students. In 2022, a new building with 750 beds and a new building will open for the Green School of International and Public Affairs. FIU Offers Top 10% Admission: Students who graduate from a Florida high school in the top 10% of their class will receive a path to admission. The student must pass a standardized test, but regardless of his score, will be accepted in one way. Students are encouraged to register for free on Raise.Me to receive micro-scholarships.
Uf No Longer Expects Masks On Campus
Florida Poly is the newest school to join Florida’s SUS and focuses exclusively on STEM education. Florida Poly was ranked by the United States. World News and Report as one of the top 40 non-Ph.D. general engineering programs. and affordable schools ranked second for providing a quality and affordable mechanical engineering education. Florida Poly welcomed its largest class of students this fall, and now has a total enrollment of 1,550. A new major this year is cyber engineering, and Florida Poly has partnered with the U.S. Navy to prepare students for the Navy’s prestigious nuclear Corps. Candidate Program (NUPOC). The school added new club sports, including men’s lacrosse, women’s soccer and track and field. The Florida Poly Robotics team is growing and developing at the highest levels of competition in VEX and Combat. A new 90,000-square-foot research center is under construction and scheduled to open in the spring.
