Current Campaign — The Student Environmental Center
We want to share with families that UCSC has decided to bring back the SafeRide program. Nighttime bus service was suspended on our campus shortly after the pandemic began in 2020. The renewed program is administered by TAPS. Students can go online, fill out a car application, and the car will drop them off anywhere on campus starting at 7:00 p.m. to 12:15 p.m., seven days a week, during the fall, winter and spring. Exceptions may be made for holidays and closing weeks.
Nine and John R. Family, friends, and loved ones of Lewis College students, join us for the 20th Anniversary of the Practical Activism Conference (PAC) on Saturday, February 25, 2023! PAC is a one-day conference featuring speakers, performances, interactive workshops, and a variety of hands-on creative activities and opportunities on a variety of social issues. You will be given the opportunity to lead workshops and help participants during the hackathon. Entrepreneurship Day is a two-part one-day event (12:00pm – 5:00pm PT) that showcases campus businesses/startups and resources through roundtable sessions and breakout sessions. -next meeting. to connect students with entrepreneurs. Through this event, we aim to promote an entrepreneurial spirit on campus and support more entrepreneurial Slugs! The table setting session begins at 12:00 PM PT and ends at 1:30 PM PT; After dinner, food is provided free of charge.
Medical Device Quality And Design
As a BSOE university interested in a career in applied mathematics and/or scientific computing, we are reporting on a $20,000 scholarship that may be of interest to you. This scholarship is available to ALL BSOE majors students who wish to pursue a master’s degree in scientific computing and applied mathematics (see below).
If you’ve never heard of Applied Math/Scientific Computing or thought about graduate school, watch this video to learn what Applied Mathematics is, the amazing career opportunities the degree opens up, and why you should study graduate school. Another year will greatly increase your chances of getting your dream job.
The Next Gen SAM program at UCSC provides 2-year scholarships (up to $10,000 per year for 2 years) to low-income students interested in pursuing a 4+1 program to master’s degree in computer science and applied mathematics. .

Students are invited to join the program based on financial need and outstanding academic performance, among other criteria. Applications are open to all BSOE students who are registered on the FAFSA and have a minimum GPA of 3.3, who plan to graduate in the next academic year. Successful applicants will begin receiving a 2-year scholarship in the following academic year (starting in the fall). Read about how to apply here.
The Next Gen SAM program has already helped low-income UCSC students succeed in 4+1 programs, graduate with master’s degrees, and secure jobs in Silicon Valley. In addition to scholarships, the program offers many other valuable resources. Watch this short video to learn more.
