Students will learn from current industry experts on ride design, production pipeline, guest experience, operations and more. To add to the excitement of the program, class time will be split between campus locations, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Creative.
“People love the power and excitement of living epic stories and thrilling adventures and Universal is an incredible place to build a career,” said Mike Hightower, Universal’s Chief Creative Officer. “The Creative Lab with UCF provides students with an immersive, hands-on, real-world experience through instruction from our talented team. This type of learning is great for UCF students, great for our theme parks and entertainment, and great for Universal Creative as we help nurture and inspire the next generation of creators.
Three credit classes are offered through the Thematic Experience Program in the College of Arts and Humanities. The program began in 2019 and was launched to meet the growing need to create experiences in the tourism, hospitality and events industry in Orlando and beyond.

A seismic shift in Big 12 membership beginning in the summer of 2021 soon ensured that Texas Tech would rotate and replace several longtime rivals on the schedule. The Red Raiders are a team without a history.
Texas Tech will play new members Houston, Brigham Young and Central Florida this coming season on the Big 12 schedule released Tuesday, and will not play longtime rivals Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Iowa State. It was the first time since 1995 that the Red Raiders did not play at least two of the Sooners, the Cowboys and the Cyclones.
The Red Raiders’ six-game home schedule includes four against 12 opponents in Houston, Kansas State, TCU and Central Florida. The TCU game is Thursday night, November 2nd. In accordance with Big 12 scheduling parameters, both teams will have an opening date of the previous Saturday.
Ucf Debuts Its Inaugural Big 12 Football Schedule For 2023
All of Tech’s non-conference games next season are already booked for years, Sept. 2 at Wyoming, Sept. 9 vs. Oregon and Sept. 16 vs. Tarleton State.
The Red Raiders Big 12 opener is Sept. 23 at West Virginia and the conference opener is Sept. 30 against Houston. Tech plays at Baylor on Oct. 7, at home against Kansas State on Oct. 14 and at BYU on Oct. 21.
After the opener and the Tech-TCU game on the first Thursday of November, the Red Raiders travel to Kansas on November 11, host UCF on November 18 and close the regular season at Texas on Friday, November 24.
Ucf Football Schedule Announced, Including Knights’ Big 12 Debut
Last season Donovan Smith rallied the Red Raiders from three late deficits and ran 9 yards for the winning touchdown. Smith has now been traded to Houston this offseason and will return to Lubbock in a Cougars uniform.
Tech has never played a football game in Utah and has only faced BYU once in a home game in 1940. The Red Raiders have never played UCF, one of four new schools admitted to the Big 12 in September 2021 to begin competition in 2023. The other new member is Cincinnati, which was not on Tech’s football schedule in its first year.
Neither are three longtime rivals. Tech has played Oklahoma State and Oklahoma every year since 1996, the inaugural season of the Big 12. All-time, the Red Raiders have played 50 games against the Cowboys and 30 against the Sooners. Tech has played Iowa State 21 times, 19 of them as members of the Big 12 and the last 13 consecutive years.

Playing in Texas on Thanksgiving weekend maintains a semblance of history. After Texas A&M left for the Southeastern Conference and ended its traditional Thanksgiving series with the Longhorns, Tech went on to open holiday weekend games in Austin, playing four times from 2013-2019.
The Red Raiders grabbed the spotlight by winning back-to-back games on Thanksgiving night in 2015 and the night after Thanksgiving in 2017.
Oklahoma and Texas will leave the SEC after July 2025, as announced in July 2021. After the Longhorns left the Big 12, Texas Tech officials pressed their teammates to continue the streak as non-Texas opponents they were from the conference. Greg Abbott supports the state of the art.

“All I can go by is (UT athletic director) Chris Del Conte’s word,” Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt said in September. “He told me personally that they’re committed to continuing to play the Texas Tech game. The governor said he’s going to be our champion. His spokesman told (The A-J) he’s committed to that, so I have to believe he’s going to . happen
“Now, is that going to happen right away when they leave the conference? Probably not, but it’s better to start again soon, I think in 2030 or 2031.”
Since the Big 12 is a 14-team conference this coming season, each team will play a nine-game conference schedule. Incumbents Oklahoma State and West Virginia will play four new schools this coming season, all four in the final five weeks of the season, in OSU’s case.

Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma and Tech will each play three of the four new programs. Iowa State, Kansas State, TCU and Texas will each play two of four.
In September, Hocutt told the Avalanche-Journal that the Big 12 schedule would not be released until “the beginning of the 2023 calendar year.”
“I want to thank our fans for looking forward to this historic schedule,” Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark said. “Given its importance, the complexities of weaving in four new schools, adding a third time zone and ensuring alignment with key stakeholders, we are very strategic in its development. I look forward to another highly competitive season of Big 12 football. The new members of the league and its fans”.

Tech’s opponents in 2023 combined for a 96-61 record last season. Played in ten bowl games, finishing with nine hitting streaks.
