Shakori Hills Fall 2023 – PITTSBORO – The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance has announced the daily schedule for the fall festival, which will be held Thursday-Sunday 3-6. October, at 1439 Henderson Tanyard Road, Pittsboro. The festival will welcome 57 performers on four stages over four days.
Previously announced as the headliner, New Orleans funk outfit Galactic will perform on Saturday, October 5th at the Meadow Stage.

Schedule For Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival Of Music & Dance
In addition to the show on Friday, October 4, festival founder Donna the Buffalo will perform two sets with Zydeco master Preston Frank on Saturday and Sunday, courtesy. Roosevelt Collier, a metal virtuoso who has played with the likes of Los Lobos and the Tedeschi Trucks Band, will also perform on Friday, as will Top country artist Sierra Ferrell will release a new album in 2020.
Shakori Hills GrassRoots will begin on Thursday, October 3 with an opening ceremony hosted by the women’s dance group Beats in the Bones, followed by an Afro-Haitian dance school. The festival ends at Stjörnudjamm at sunset on Sunday, October 6.
Many North Carolina artists will perform at the festival, including two established acts, such as Tan and Sober Gentlemen and The Fritz, and rising stars such as Wilmington-based string ensemble Into the Fog and Chapel Hill’s School of Rock.

“I think you’d be hard-pressed to find another event that has been dedicated to nurturing North Carolina talent over the years,” Dean said. “Kids are having fun on the streets one year, playing in the cabaret tent the next, and a few years later on the Meadow stage.
Door hours are Thursdays from 10 a.m. to midnight; Friday from 9 a.m.-noon; Saturday from 9:00 am to midnight; and Sunday from 9:00-20:00.
* Youth (ages 13-15) single-day tickets (available at the box office): Thursday, $15; Friday, $23; Saturday, $23; and Sunday, $18. Must be accompanied by a parent (or guardian 18 years or older).

Chatham County residents get $5 off days with proof of residency at the door. Chatham residents can also get $20 off the four-day gate price either at the door or in advance by stopping by Circle City Books, 121 Hillsboro St., Pittsboro, or another ticket office with proof of address and a valid NC driver’s license.
Senior citizens (60 and over) receive a $5 holiday ticket at the door. Military veterans get $5 off holidays at the door with ID. Students receive $5 off holiday tickets with students at the door.
The festival is a non-profit event that raises money for the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center, which provides low-cost, affordable music and arts education in rural Chatham, Orange and Durham counties. For the first time in 2 years this weekend, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome everyone to town! But since we know that not all of you can do it in person, we are happy to announce that Friday and Saturday night of the festival will be available to watch LIVE from anywhere via high definition multi-camera live streams by StageIt and Event Broadcasting online!

On June 24, Round Records & ATO Records will release GarciaLive Volume Six: July 5, 1973 – Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders, the latest installment in the GarciaLive release. The three CD set was recorded at the former 200-capacity Lion’s Share club in the small town of San Anselmo, California, just 32 miles north of San Francisco. The performance features Jerry Garcia and his friend, mentor and keyboard player/vocalist Merl Saunders. The duo was joined by guitarist Bill Vitt and bassist John Kahn, who soon became Garcia’s lifelong collaborator. It’s sad that we have to postpone the Shakori Spring Festival this year until autumn, 7-10. October, 2021 due to ongoing COVID-19. -19 pandemic, we are so grateful to all those who have worked so hard on the front lines to continue to shine light at the end of this tunnel.

And so, in the spirit of taking the first step to bring us all back together, we are very excited to announce GrassRoots Live! at Shakori Hills: an intimate, intimate, far-reaching, limited-capacity one-night concert series on the Meadow Stage at Shakori Hills beginning April 17 with Keller Williams and ending June 11 and 12 with Donna The Buffalo. Working closely with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we have created a pod-centric layout at Shakori Hills’ Meadow Stage that allows up to six (6) people in 8 x 8 foot pod to look far from other pods. with masks and binoculars required everywhere on site except your Pod. After much planning and discussion, we feel confident in our plans to contribute to a safe live music scene this spring, and we hope to see you and your Pod there!
What a year without all of you in our lives. We couldn’t be more confident in our plans, team and band to safely take this first step and return together (but far) as an intimate but safe part of the magic of Grassroots and live music that created with that trick. one more chance. We hope this keeps you warm as the days get longer and the tunnel ends, and we hope to see you and your mask dancing in your pod at one of these shows down under this spring!

The Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance has announced its first artists for the fall edition of the 4-day festival, set to take place October 6-9 in Pittsboro, N.C. This year is the 18th, which confirms a selection of species that are wet in a garden that is considered for the action.
Cool Weather And Hot Bands Greeted Shakori
Those behind the event shared the first tour of the artists who will be joining them in the Old North Kingdom this fall, including many of the This weekend’s musicians are set to take the stage for several sets during the long run.
