The Janelia Undergraduate Fellows Program is a 10-week summer program aimed at independent and committed students who are well prepared and have significant research experience. Janelia’s undergraduate scholars are dedicated future scientists, engineers and mathematicians.
The Shoals Diversity Scholarship, established in 2020 by Jay and Suzanne McFarland, seeks to increase the diversity of undergraduate students enrolled at Shoals Marine Laboratory (SML). SML is a summer institute and field station jointly operated by Cornell and the University of New Hampshire on Appledore Island, Maine, offering summer courses and internships to students. To this end, SML invites underrepresented students to apply for financial support for SML academic courses. Summer Internship Fellowships
The Shoals Diversity Scholarship ranges from $1,000 to full tuition plus room and board, depending on the number of applicants and available funding. Diversity scholarship applicants should also consider applying for need-based and merit-based SML scholarships to support their lab enrollment. The research assistantship is funded by the Office of the President and administered by the Office of Undergraduate Studies under the leadership of a faculty member who serves as a research mentor for the proposed research project. The aim of this program is to provide students with research experience under the supervision of the faculty. Undergraduate Summer Research Internships In Neuroscience
The work of the practicum will contribute to the conservation, management, study and interpretation of fossil resources at the Mammoth Site.
The applicant should be working toward a degree in geology, biology, anthropology, museum studies, or a related field and have at least 3 courses in their major. Early career and graduate students can also apply. Must pay close attention to detail and develop working knowledge of animal anatomy and palaeontological/geological concepts. Previous fossil preparation experience and/or museum curatorial experience is desirable but not required. Must be at least 18 years old.

Successful applicants will be at least 18 years old and currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, social media management, public relations, graphic design, or a related field.
