The Red Rocks Amphitheater was the busiest venue in the world so far last year, according to Billboard magazine. But 2021 is just a stone compared to what’s happening under the stars at Morrison right now.

Red Rocks hosted 233 ticketed events in 2021, including 177 concerts, 36 movies and 20 concerts, which attracted a record 1.32 million people. “And we’re on track to break that record,” said Ginger White Brunetti, executive director of Denver Arts & Venues, which oversees the iconic amphitheater.

It seems that the organizers of the venue are building a roof so that the concerts can continue despite the weather, which has been a bit stormy over the years. The 868-acre park sits 6,450 feet above sea level and gets its name from the striking red rock formations that bubble up from the ground.
The most famous rocks are Creation Rock to the north, Ship Rock to the south and Stage Rock to the east.
Cycle/on foot: there are two hiking and cycling routes. The 1.4 mile Trading Post Trail takes you through Fountain and Lyons before terminating at the Trading Post. The Red Rocks Trail begins in the lower north and can be connected with the Matthews-Winters Trail, making a six mile loop.
