Namm Summer 2023 – Are you ready to take the stage at The Show? Each year, it hosts several stages at The Show Campus to give emerging and established artists the opportunity to perform in front of an engaged and diverse industry audience.
The submission period for the 2023 Plan is now closed. All actions participating in the submission process will be notified on February 13, 2023, if they have been selected to run. Please note that bands from artists are not financially compensated.

It wouldn’t be a Show without live music! Actors interested in joining Bandaragam di must go through an official submission process and Bandaragam di selection committee will review all submissions. How will the NAMM Show – the world’s largest and oldest annual musical instrument, equipment and technology show – return to live action this weekend after last year’s cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic?
“We know the epidemic is not over, although I would say it’s loosening its grip on our lives,” said Joe Lamond, president of the Carlsbad-based National Assn. from music dealers.

The world’s largest annual musical instrument and equipment trade show, organized by Carlsbad-based NAMM, will also consolidate the 2022 summer NAMM Show and move it from Nashville to Anaheim, then hold separate shows in 2023 in both cities.
“The producers of ‘Sesame Street’ used to say that every season is their trial season. Well, this is our 121st trial season,” Lamond said.
“We’re still feeling the effects of the global pandemic, the supply chain issues and all the other issues that are coming up right now. But we’re getting the band together. We’re ready to perform. And we know how to do it.”

More than 3,500 brands of instruments, sound and lighting equipment, recording equipment and other products from up to 1,000 companies will be on display at the NAMM Show this weekend.
This is a 50% drop from the 7,000 brands exhibited by 2,000 companies at the 2020 edition. This year’s attendance is expected to be no more than half of 2020’s 115,000.

“I may only see someone for five minutes at the NAMM Show, but those five minutes are very important. And there are certain things you might say or discuss that wouldn’t happen on a computer, certain nuances you wouldn’t pick up online.”
Although Yamaha and Taylor will have a smaller and less personal footprint than at the latest edition of the NAMM Show, both companies share Ash’s passion for the importance of face-to-face interaction.
“Not having the NAMM Show in person in Anaheim last year hurt us,” said Yamaha’s Sumner, speaking from his office in Buena Park.

“It’s hard to get people interested in new musical instruments online because the instruments are so tactile. For retailers and musicians, not being able to touch them and play makes it harder.”
Yamaha will introduce 20 new products at NAMM, including its motorcycle-inspired Revstar line of guitars and the latest version of the $150,000 CFX Grand Piano. As in previous years, Yamaha will host several major outdoor concerts this weekend in the plaza next to the Anaheim Convention Center. They are free to show it to the participants.
Taylor, whose 2021 sales are expected to reach a record $148 million, will also introduce new products, notably the new Koa 700 line of acoustic guitars. For retailers and musicians, the appeal of these and other instruments is best heard and felt in person.
