You Long Beach City College uses the QLess system so students don’t have to wait in long lines for service. QLess allows students to line up virtually without physically standing in line. The student will be notified to return to the service area the next time they receive services. Spatial design pushes the boundaries of traditional design expertise and focuses on the movement of people between indoor and outdoor environments. A designed space is understood to be inhabited and its form forms surfaces, volumes and facades in response to the occupants. The Spatial Design program emphasizes the relationship between people and space and studies the important political, ecological, anthropological and cultural consequences found in the built environment.
Depending on the number of units taken and whether you are a full-time or part-time student, a certificate program can take at least one semester to complete, and an associate’s degree program can take approximately two years to complete.

The Architectural Design Advisory Board at is made up of local entrepreneurs, businesses and professionals. An advisory board updates and approves the curriculum and programs to meet the specific needs of students. Our architectural design program is constantly evolving, learning from the advice of our Advisory Board and incorporating their recommendations into our program to stay at the forefront of technology. The Strong Beach Bus Pass pilot program offers all currently enrolled students the opportunity to receive a free LA Metro GoPass. Students can use this pass to access:
The only criterion is that the student must be enrolled in the current semester (i.e. includes full-time, part-time, in-person, online, credit/non-credit and dual enrollment students).
