Lehman College Fall 2023 Calendar – The Lehman Institute Art Gallery and the New York Triennial of Latin American Art present their 2022 edition, celebrating the incredible variety of works exhibited by local, national and international artists of Latin American origins, gathered under themes and titles.
NYLAAT 2022 examines various creative processes and forms inspired by traditional ideas, materials and concepts at different stages of the cultural and intellectual development of the American continent. This project explores the inescapable influence of past generations on the aesthetic, cultural or social values that exist in Latin American contemporary art today. A presentation of 20 artists from more than a dozen countries at the Lehman Institute Art Gallery draws a link between contemporary art from the African continent and the calculated use of materials, elements and forms of expression by the region’s first inhabitants.
