Kennesaw State Calendar Spring 2023 – The State College of Art and Design will present the annual Spring Festival of Art for the Family on Saturday, March 18 from 11:00 to 15:00. The free festival features activities for all ages and interests at Chastain Pointe Studios, across from the main campus on ul.
– This year’s Spring Art Festival will once again present our popular artist market – says prof. Craig Brasco, who helps organize the popular event. Visitors will be able to meet students of the Faculty of Art and Design, see their work and even buy items to take home. Browse the booths of over 60 artists, from freshmen to graduates. “The festival is a great time to celebrate our students while welcoming the ArtsKSU community,” added Brasco.

The festival will take place rain or shine as many events take place in the studio. If it doesn’t rain, three outdoor events are waiting for guests, organized on demand. Glass maker Kelly Robertson of Calvary Glass will create works of glass art that will be available for purchase. Hellani Fogleman will bring his blacksmithing to KSU; customers can even buy hand-forged metal items. Before the festival goers’ eyes, chalk artists Zach Herndon and Jesse Quinn will once again create a visual masterpiece with something as seemingly simple as chalk.

After seeing the artists outside, visitors may want to create their own artwork at the Chastain Pointe Studio with a variety of workshops. prof. Chris Hall will guide visitors in creating fanciful images of famous artists on a large magnetic board, leading to some remarkable visuals and perhaps a laugh or two. Comics have been making people smile for decades; patrons can create their own 3-panel comic with prof. Chris Malone.
Prof. Cynthia Lollis will show visitors how the printer works with pre-printed RISOgraphic images. Visitors can then take a free print home with them. prof. During his workshop, Mark Brotherton will lead visitors to create their own paintings, and Elizabeth Thomas of the Zuckerman Museum of Art will lead a stencil workshop.
Afterwards, visitors can create their own soft cuddly sculptures. prof. Amanda Britton will teach visitors how to build and sew soft sculptures using a mix of fabrics and boxes. prof. Keith Smith will help patrons cast various items – including trinkets and key chains – using resin and rubber molds. prof.

New this year is Prof. Christine Kim in her workshop of making windmills using special Korean paper. Then, patrons can create their own clay masterpieces, paint with watercolors, or create custom drawings with Prof. Rick Garner.
Visitors will be able to watch the popular Pin-Up Show, which presents works of art from preschoolers to high school students from the surrounding schools. Last year, ten district primary and secondary schools took part in it. Pin-up show.
