BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Two Indiana University fraternities have been suspended from senior fraternities for “endangering others” and drinking alcohol.

IU confirmed on the university’s website that Alpha Epsilon Pi will be suspended from all social events/activities of the organization effective September 13th. Sigma Alpha Mu has suspended all organizational activities until further notice, according to the website.

This comes after Sigma Phi Epsilon was suspended and disbanded earlier this month for violations including endangering others and consuming alcohol.
“Cease-and-desist instructions are issued when complaints are made about conduct that has caused or may cause harm to members of the organization and/or the community,” Carney said in an email. “When an organization is retired or retired, the organization is prohibited from organizing, attending, or participating in any social events, recruitment, fraternity, philanthropic/service events, or social events.”
