CSUN is located in the heart of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley. Aside from housing your potential future campus, the Valley is also home to the giants of the entertainment industry. Both film and animation studios visit San Fernando.
Not to mention, so do many celebrities! Students interested in the performing arts may find many opportunities to test their knowledge of the classroom by graduating from campus.

41,548 students attended CSUN in fall 2015. Of those students, 37,188 were enrolled in undergraduate studies. 54% of enrolled undergraduate students are women and 46% are men. Many of the students chose to pursue their education full time. 81% of undergraduate students attend class full time and 19% attend part time.
CSUN’s undergraduate body also offers opportunities for both traditional and mature learners. 80% of students attending undergraduate classes were 24 years of age or younger. The remaining 20% were 25 years or older. Mature learners returning to education can find a welcoming environment at CSU Northridge!
Only 1% of undergraduate students enroll in distance education only. However, many students have used online classes to supplement their degree program. 41% of students enrolled in some form of distance education.
California State University, Northridge
In fall 2015, 4,360 graduate students were also enrolled at CSUN. The students were equally divided in how they approached their studies. 50% of postgraduate students choose to attend classes full-time and the other 50% part-time. 2% of students would only participate in distance education. An additional 9% would enroll in some form of distance education.
CSUN undergraduate admissions are simple. Unlike other schools, you may not need to provide a ton of additional materials. Instead, they focus on your academic achievements. As part of this, you may be asked to provide the following as part of the admissions process.
It is important to note that students with a GPA of 3.6 or higher may not be required to submit an SAT or ACT score. Students with a GPA of 3.22 or lower may still be required to submit this information.

California State University Northridge accepted 46% of the 34,444 students in its undergraduate applicant pool. Of the students, CSUN accepted 44% of male applicants and 47% of female applicants.
And, many of these students chose to continue their studies at California State University Northridge. Of the students who started a bachelor’s degree in Autumn 2014, 79% of full-time students and 46% of part-time students returned in Autumn 2015.

Graduate students participate in a two-part application process. Students may be asked to submit applications to their desired university and department. This is because many departments have higher entry standards or may have a specific departmental application.
CSUN’s online programs are designed to help working professionals complete their bachelor’s or master’s education. These programs are offered as part of the Tseng College of Postgraduate, International and Mid-Career Education.
Like CSUN’s campus programs, online courses are designed to provide comprehensive learning experiences. Faculty work with the e-learning team to create classes that test students’ critical thinking skills and knowledge. 41% of undergraduate students participate in some form of distance education.
California State University
Before applying to the program, students may be asked to participate in a 2-week orientation. This process explains how to use the online technology. This way, students could confidently log into their classes on their first day of the semester.
85% of full-time undergraduate students received financial aid in 2014-2015. 82% of students received grant or scholarship assistance. The students received the following medium assistance from the listed sources.
Additionally, 33% of students received financial assistance from student loans. The students received an average of $4,760 in aid from federal and other loan services.
Cal State Northridge
As of fall 2015, California State University Northridge employs 937 full-time and 1,130 part-time staff. 100% of the professors spent 100% of their time teaching the students. No faculty member spends time doing personal research while on campus.
In addition to faculty, graduate students may have the opportunity to work with CSUN. In fall 2015, CSUN hired 274 graduate assistants. Of the students, 215 professors helped teach undergraduate students. The remaining 59 acted as research assistants or leaders.
CSUN is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The agency gives accreditation to schools that work continuously to improve their programs.
Curriculum & Instruction Option
Schools are encouraged to continuously set achievable educational targets to develop their current curriculum. The WASC regularly evaluates schools’ progress towards these goals to hold them accountable.
The online CSUN degree programs are offered 100% online. These programs can offer easy access to course materials. And, the eLearning team is always looking for new technologies to enhance their current offerings.

In addition, students can supplement their classes online. Students may plan to take certain courses in their curriculum online rather than in the classroom. These courses are also offered to students outside Tseng College.
In addition, the online program offers additional learning opportunities. Students may have the opportunity to participate in ongoing technical training during their program. This can help them develop their computer literacy. This can help them feel more comfortable with the online tools and help them better understand computer systems outside of the classroom.
Many CSUN students choose to pursue degree programs in the health sciences. The online Master of Science in Assistive Technology and Human Services Studies (MS in ATHS) provides a digital option for distance learners.
