Baylor Fall 2023 Schedule – WACO, Texas — Baylor football will play a record eight home games and open the first four weeks at McLane Stadium as part of the 2023 schedule announced Tuesday by the Big 12 Conference.
The Bears open the 2023 season on Sept. 2, hosting Texas State at McLane Stadium. Baylor cruised to a 42-7 win over the Bobcats in Week 3 of the 2022 season.
Baylor Fall 2023 Schedule
The season-best player will begin a four-game home streak, and the Bears will play five of their first six at home to open the year. The eight home games are the most in program history, and the four consecutive home starts mark the most consecutive home games to start a season since the 2013 Big 12 Championship.

Baylor will play Utah on 9/9, Long Island, Sept. 16 and will open Big 12 play on September 9. 23 against Texas, all at McLane Stadium. This is the Bears first meeting against Utah and LIU.
The first road test of the year comes at new Big 12 conference foe UCF in September. 30 in Orlando. Baylor then returns to McLane Stadium to host Texas Tech on Oct. 7. The Bears beat Texas Tech in Lubbock last year, 45-17.
The Bears have an off week on Oct. 14 before traveling to face another conference opponent, Cincinnati, at Nippert Stadium in the Queen City on Oct. 21. This will be the first meeting between the Bears and the Bobcats.
Razorbacks Drop Another Close One On Road, Falling To Baylor
The two-game homestand will feature Iowa State on Oct. 28, a team the Bears defeated 31-24 in Ames, Iowa, a year ago, before hosting the new conference in Houston in November. 4 at McLane Stadium. Baylor is 14-13-1 against Houston, last coming against the Cougars in 1995.
The Bears will hit the road against Kansas State in Manhattan, Kansas in November. 11, before facing TCU on 11/18 in Fort Worth.

I’m disappointed. We played three of our new conference members, but we didn’t play BYU who I hope to play every year. It was also great playing OSU. However, I understand that there is no perfect solution.
We travel with 2 of 3 new teams and no BYU? It is neither OU nor OSU. Kind of a short and worthless schedule considering we’ve played some good games with Oklahoma schools recently.
Since some schedules are more difficult than others, how is the champion determined? Is there a division?

IIRC, the Albany game was a replacement for La Tech backing out of playing us. Maybe LIU is taking over the La Tech 2023 game?

Right… I won Albany because of the short deadline, but I had enough time to find a more respectable opponent than Long Island!

The conference office announced the schedule Tuesday, after the college football world has been waiting since the end of the 2022 season, as it is the first schedule of new members Houston, UCF, Cincinnati and BYU.
Texas and Oklahoma remain members of the league until 2023, and Baylor will not face the Sooners this fall while opening four straight games at home.
The 2023 schedule features four Friday games and four Thursday games, with two Thursday games coming on the first weekend as non-conference games.
Baylor Baseball Adds 13 To 2023 Signing Class
West Virginia (Oct. 12 at Houston, Oct. 28 at UCF, Nov. 4 vs. BYU, Nov. 18 vs. Cincinnati) and Oklahoma State (Oct. 28 vs. Cincinnati, Nov. 11 at UCF, Nov. 18 at Houston and Nov. 25 against BYU) are the only current members of the conference slated to face all four new members in 2023.
